SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY DIVISION, ASTEC
To identify areas in which science & technology can be utilize for achieving the socio-economic objectives of the state and in particular, the objectives of tackling the problems of unemployment and poverty in rural areas and the under privileged sections of the society by infusing science & technology.
To initiate, support, promote and co-ordinate research and development projects which are relevant to the achievement of specific s & t objectives and help in the utilization of natural as well as human resources of the state through institutions of the state and with interaction with national bodies with s&t components and ipr activities.
To promote popularization of science & technology, growth of scientific temper and attitude among all sections of people and children and dissemination of s&t knowledge to increase the public understanding and acceptance of science & technology.
To act in critical gap areas of S & T application which are not in the purview of state conventional institutions.
